Thoracic Surgery Medical Director

Trained as a cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Alec Akbarov, MD, FACS, FACC, worked at the National Cancer Institute of USSR in Moscow. After immigrating to the United States, he continued his training here. He later started and established a reputable cardiothoracic surgery program in Nebraska. He joined CaroMont Heart & Vascular ten years ago as medical director of thoracic surgery and during his time there, he started a successful minimally invasive lung cancer surgery program and helped thousands of patients.
