Investing in a Healthier Future

CaroMont Health continues to expand to meet the growing needs of our community. In 2019, we announced plans to invest more than $350 million in capital projects over the next five years. These critical projects are a reflection of our unwavering commitment to the thousands of patients who trust us with their care.

Critical Care Tower at CaroMont Regional Medical Center

The construction of a second patient tower on the campus of CaroMont Regional Medical Center will expand hospital critical care , an area that already sees large patient volumes. The 146,000-square foot tower will include four floors, all dedicated to the care and treatment of seriously or critically ill patients. From the innovative floor plan, which will allow our nurses to do their jobs more efficiently, to the larger rooms that balance technology and comfort, this project will make a difference for each of the thousands of patients who depend on us to help change and save their lives.

CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont

Located off Interstate 85 in Gaston County, the 28-acre medical campus will include a 66-bed hospital (54-acute care beds and 12 observation beds), 16-room emergency department, labor and delivery unit, operating rooms and surgical capabilities, and robust diagnostic testing and imaging services. A medical office building and parking deck is also planned.

In September 2020, CaroMont Health and Belmont Abbey College entered into a long-term partnership to allow CaroMont Health to build the new hospital and medical campus on land owned by the college and monastic community since the late 1800s. The proximity of CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont to the college campus will offer educational opportunities for students in Belmont Abbey College’s health science programs.

New and Upgraded Medical Practices Across the Region

Expanding access to care is some of CaroMont Health’s most important work. By investing in new and upgraded clinics and medical facilities, communities like Cherryville, Cramerton, Bessemer City, Belmont and Lake Wylie welcome new and existing patients to CaroMont Health’s network of primary and specialty care services.
