CaroMont Health Opens CaroMont Hematology & Oncology in Belmont
BELMONT, N.C. — CaroMont Health today opened CaroMont Hematology & Oncology in Belmont, expanding its network of hematology and oncology care across the region. Located in Suite 300 of the CaroMont Health Medical Pavilion on the campus of CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Belmont, the 13,391-square-foot practice offers six exam rooms and 11 infusion bays, physician visits, infusion therapy and laboratory services all in one location.
The practice provides comprehensive hematology and medical oncology services, including cancer diagnosis and staging, blood disorder evaluation, and genetic and biomarker testing. Patients have access to a full range of medical oncology treatments — chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormone therapy and infusion therapy — as well as hematology care for anemia, bleeding and clotting disorders. Supportive services including survivorship care planning, symptom management, patient navigation, clinical trial access and multidisciplinary tumor board review are also offered as part of the CaroMont Health cancer program.

CaroMont Health recently announced a $200 million investment in cancer care for the region, including the opening of this practice and a new 125,000-square-foot CaroMont Cancer Center on the main campus of CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, along with a planned radiation therapy center in Belmont that would expand radiation therapy capacity and access by more than 30 percent. It marks one of the largest capital projects in the health system's history, and it's expected to double CaroMont Health's oncology capacity, from roughly 1,500 new cancer cases treated each year to about 3,000.
Patients at the Belmont location have access to on-site infusion and lab services, so many appointments, treatments and bloodwork can be completed in a single visit. The infusion bays were designed with both comfort and care in mind, offering natural light and individual privacy, as well as state-of-the-art chairs to ensure comfort during treatment.
CaroMont Hematology & Oncology is located on the third floor of the CaroMont Health Medical Pavilion at CaroMont Parkway in Belmont. Parking is available in the on-site parking deck, with a drop-off circle for patients who need additional assistance getting to and from their appointment.
